Transforming Space and Experience – Clínica Dental Jalón by Murillo y Hernández Arquitectura

In the heart of Clínica Dental Jalón lies a thoughtful design that transcends conventional boundaries. Murillo y Hernández Arquitectura faced a unique challenge with Clínica Dental Jalón—a square-shaped location that called for creative solutions to achieve fluidity and spatial optimization. The resulting design is a masterclass in blending form with function, introducing a central structure that acts as the clinic’s backbone while maintaining a continuous visual flow throughout the space. This central element, crafted from oak veneer latticework, plays a pivotal role in the clinic's ambiance and functionality. Rising to a defined height, the lattice not only delineates space but also guides the gaze, creating an illusion of greater height and openness. Its perforated design allows natural light to filter through, bathing the clinic in warmth and enhancing the perception of spaciousness.

The careful selection of materials amplifies the character and atmosphere of Clínica Dental Jalón. Oak wood and exposed brick are the heroes of the design, imbuing the space with texture, warmth, and a sense of continuity between the interior and exterior. This material palette elevates the design, creating an environment that feels inviting yet sophisticated. The attention to detail begins at the clinic’s entrance. Here, a curved feature on the façade softly directs visitors inward, seamlessly transitioning them into a waiting area that embodies the project's overarching aesthetic and functional ethos.

Light, both natural and artificial, is a cornerstone of the clinic’s design. Natural illumination streams into all three key zones—the patient area, the treatment rooms, and the private spaces—enhancing the experience for patients and staff alike. This thoughtful integration reduces reliance on artificial lighting, underscoring the project’s sustainable approach while fostering a calming, health-oriented ambiance. The clinic’s layout is structured around three primary areas: the patient zone, the treatment rooms, and the private areas. This organization ensures a clear separation of functions, preserving privacy without compromising connectivity. The private zone, discreetly accessible via the locker rooms, offers an effortless transition between public and private realms, reflecting the meticulous planning behind every design choice.
