Gabriel Gallegos Alonso, born in Valladolid, Spain, in 1983, is an architect with a degree from the School of Architecture of Valladolid (ETSA), which he completed in 2009. Son of renowned architect Gabriel Gallegos Borges, the creator of significant works such as the Villamuriel de Cerrato Cemetery and the Santander Conference Center, Gabriel has worked as a collaborator alongside his father on various projects. In 2021, he decided to combine his architecture career with his true passion: architectural photography, a field in which he trained at the EFTI school in Madrid, earning his certification in 2017. Gabriel's journey into architectural photography began with his exploration of abandoned buildings, an activity that initially served as a learning outlet and ultimately became a personal project. This artistic pursuit led him to present his work in 2022 in the exhibition "Of Time and Destruction" at the University of Valladolid Museum, which propelled his career as a professional photographer. From this experience, Gabriel has developed a unique approach to capturing the essence of architectural works, connecting viewers with the space by emphasizing the relationship between the building and its surroundings, and conveying the light, materiality, and scale of the spaces in an authentic manner. Inspired by renowned photographers such as Adriá Goula, Aitor Estévez, and Roland Halbe, Gabriel has a particular affinity for the work of Portuguese photographer Fernando Guerra, whom he admires for his ability to highlight the value of buildings in any context. Gabriel focuses on the geometry of the elements present in the scene, using them as the foundation to create clear and precise compositions that convey the architectural essence in a magical and authentic way.
